Community Guidelines
Last updated: February 16, 2026
GoMoveAbroad is a community of people exploring international relocation. These guidelines help us maintain a respectful, helpful, and safe environment for everyone. By using our platform, you agree to follow these guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service.
Be Respectful
- Treat all community members with dignity and respect
- Welcome newcomers — everyone starts somewhere in their relocation journey
- Disagree constructively — challenge ideas, not people
- Respect cultural differences — our community spans dozens of countries and cultures
- No harassment, bullying, threats, or personal attacks
- No discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or immigration status
Be Helpful & Honest
- Share your genuine experiences — both positive and negative
- Cite sources when sharing factual claims about visa requirements, costs, or regulations
- Clearly label opinions as opinions, especially on subjective topics like quality of life
- Update or correct your previous contributions if you learn they were inaccurate
- Don't present yourself as a licensed professional (attorney, financial advisor, immigration consultant) unless you are one
- Don't fabricate experiences or trip verifications — false attestations may result in account restrictions
Respect Legal Boundaries
International relocation involves complex legal systems. Our community must operate within legal boundaries:
- No visa fraud: Do not share, promote, or solicit advice on fraudulent visa applications, fake documents, or misrepresentation to immigration authorities
- No tax evasion: Discussions about tax optimization are welcome; promoting illegal tax evasion schemes is not
- No unlicensed advice: Sharing personal experiences is encouraged, but do not provide specific legal, tax, or immigration advice unless you are a licensed professional in the relevant jurisdiction
- No illegal activity: Do not promote, facilitate, or discuss illegal immigration, smuggling, money laundering, or any other criminal activity
- Respect local laws: What is legal in one country may not be in another. Be mindful of this in discussions
Content Standards
- Keep content relevant to international relocation, travel, and expat life
- No spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content
- No sexually explicit, violent, or graphic content
- Do not share personal information of others without their consent
- Do not post content that infringes on intellectual property rights
- Use appropriate language — keep discussions professional and accessible
Prohibited Conduct
The following will result in immediate action, up to permanent account removal:
- Promoting visa fraud, document forgery, or illegal immigration schemes
- Harassment, doxxing, or threats against any community member
- Impersonating other users, professionals, or government officials
- Scams, phishing, or attempts to defraud community members
- Posting malware, malicious links, or attempting to compromise platform security
- Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate the platform
- Automated scraping or data collection from the platform
Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in:
- Warning: For first-time or minor violations
- Content removal: Offending posts or contributions may be removed without notice
- Temporary suspension: Repeated violations may result in temporary account suspension
- Permanent ban: Severe or repeated violations will result in permanent account removal
- Legal referral: Illegal activity may be reported to relevant authorities
Enforcement decisions are made at our sole discretion and are final. If you believe an action was taken in error, you may contact us at support@gomoveabroad.com.
Reporting Violations
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it through the platform's reporting feature or email us at support@gomoveabroad.com. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
