Community Guidelines
Last updated: January 8, 2026
Welcome to Our Community
Move Abroad is a global community of people exploring international relocation, citizenship pathways, residency programs, and life abroad. Our community thrives when members share experiences, provide helpful information, and support each other respectfully.
These guidelines help ensure our community remains a valuable, trustworthy resource for everyone. By participating in our community features, you agree to follow these guidelines.
Core Principles
Be Helpful
Share accurate information based on personal experience or verified sources. Help others navigate their journey.
Be Respectful
Treat all community members with dignity. Disagreements are fine; personal attacks are not.
Be Honest
Share truthful information. Cite sources when sharing facts. Acknowledge when you're unsure.
Be Inclusive
Welcome people from all backgrounds. Our community serves people from every country and walk of life.
What We Encourage
- Sharing personal experiences: First-hand accounts of visa applications, relocation processes, and living abroad are incredibly valuable.
- Asking questions: No question is too basic. We all started somewhere.
- Providing constructive feedback: Help improve our content by submitting corrections and updates with sources.
- Supporting newcomers: Welcome new members and help them find relevant information.
- Citing reliable sources: When sharing factual information, link to official government websites, reputable news sources, or verified documents.
- Cultural exchange: Share insights about local customs, languages, and daily life in different countries.
- Celebrating successes: Share your wins! Got your visa approved? Found a great apartment abroad? We want to hear about it.
- Offering balanced perspectives: Every relocation path has pros and cons. Help others by sharing both.

Content Quality Standards
When contributing information to our platform:
For Pathway/Program Contributions
- Always cite official sources (government websites, official publications)
- Include the date when information was verified

For Community Discussions
- Clearly state whether you're sharing personal experience or general advice
- Acknowledge the limitations of your knowledge
- Update or correct your posts if you learn new information
- Avoid generalizing individual experiences to entire countries or groups
Expert Contributors
Verified experts (immigration lawyers, tax advisors, real estate professionals) have additional responsibilities:
- Accuracy: Ensure all professional advice reflects current laws and best practices
- Disclosure: Clearly identify when providing advice related to your services
- Limitations: Acknowledge jurisdictional and situational limits of advice
- Ethics: Follow applicable professional codes of conduct
- No guarantees: Never guarantee specific immigration outcomes
