It has been replaced by the IFICI (Incentivo Fiscal à Investigação Científica e Inovação) regime, which is far more restrictive — available only to scientific researchers, highly qualified professionals in specific sectors, and startup employees. The broad NHR benefits for retirees and general remote workers NO LONGER EXIST.
